JJS Supplies is closing gaps in the industrial part supply chain after securing Rosebud funding
Preston-based JJS Supplies, which specialises in supplying industrial parts to manufacturing and engineering sectors, is expanding its operations after securing funding from Rosebud, part of Lancashire County Council’s Business Growth Service.
Founded in September 2023 by Janis Saveljevs, the company has grown rapidly, matching last year’s results in just seven months. The business now supplies a diverse range of industries, including food processing, plastic moulding, chemicals, recycling, and animal feed manufacturing, supplying electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic parts alongside repair, fabrication, and rapid on-demand sourcing to minimise downtime and maintain production continuity.
Janis, who moved to the UK from Latvia at the age of ten, built his expertise over a decade of experience in industrial purchasing and engineering coordination roles, which allowed him to develop deep knowledge of industrial spare parts and machinery. This hands-on experience revealed challenges within the supply chain and valuable insight into the strengths and limitations of existing suppliers. He identified a gap where manufacturers often needed to contact multiple suppliers for different requirements, creating inefficiencies and delays.
In 2023, armed with industry knowledge and a clear vision, Janis took the entrepreneurial leap and launched JJS Supplies from his home, gradually building the business through determination and strategic planning. Supported by his fiancé, who manages the financial processes and bookkeeping that underpin stability, the business has grown with strong foundations and a clear purpose: to keep manufacturers running with speed, expertise, and trust.
The company’s early phase required careful navigation of the common startup challenges, particularly managing cash flow against the 60-to-90-day payment terms typical in the industry. Janis approached this methodically, understanding that building a reputation for reliability would be the foundation for long-term success.
The business invested time in establishing strong relationships with customers and demonstrating consistent delivery. By the second year of operations, this persistence paid off as client confidence grew, leading to increased order volumes and new customer acquisition. The appointment of a Branch Manager and Internal Sales Representative further strengthened the team’s capacity to serve clients effectively.

The Rosebud loan will enable JJS Supplies to take the next step in its growth journey. The funding will support:
- Hiring additional team members to support continued growth
- Enhancing order management capacity
- Future expansion to a larger facility with a trade counter, which will unlock access to better wholesale pricing and an expanded supplier network
